Tranquil rural retreat...
If
you are dreaming of an escape from the hustle and bustle of busy
town and city living, then the Scottish Borders village of Sprouston
might be just the place. Sprouston is a small and tranquil rural
retreat, set in beautiful Borders countryside, just 2 miles from
Kelso.
The village has a parish church and a primary school close
to its village green. The River Tweed is situated nearby
and there are several good walks around the edge of Sprouston. |

It
is a place of idyllic living for young and old alike, whether
raising families, or looking to take it easy in retirement.
The
thriving market town of Kelso is a short car or bus journey along
the B6350. The town is well served by supermarkets
with a selection of local and national traders found in and around
the cobbled town square. The local farming community hosts the
annual Border Union Show in Springfield Park, a venue which also
holds regular motorbike and car rallies and angling fares.
The
Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe reside in the splendid Floors Castle
on the edge of Kelso. The castle and its magnificent
grounds contain plenty of interest and activity and is well worth
visiting.
The area around Sprouston offers many outdoor pursuits. There
are two golf courses, an ice rink, rugby, cricket, football,
fishing, shooting, horse racing and equestrian events.
The major
cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle and their airports can be reached
in just over an hour, so if you feel you want to take things
a bit easier, why not make your home in the beautiful village
of Sprouston?
